The Bigot’s Blanket
There is a whole host of groups that he doesn’t like
People he deems unworthy who should go and take a hike
If he had his way all those he others would be on their bike
Or better still face divine justice from a mighty lightning strike
And if you happen not to share the views of this nice bloke
He’ll tell anyone who’ll listen that he thinks you are woke
He doesn’t have any sympathy when asylum-seekers drown
Calls them economic migrants on whom we need to clamp down
Thinks detention centres are a good idea (but not near his town)
Although he welcomes the Ukrainians (as their skin isn’t brown)
And if you say seeking asylum’s not illegal and our system is broke
He’ll claim the patriotic high ground and brand you as woke
Environmentalists are near the top of his hate list
Cyclists in the road ahead get his knickers in a twist
Says he’d run over the protestors who refuse to desist
And he’d come down on that Greta with a massive iron fist
And if you don’t agree with him that climate change is a joke
He’ll play his trump card and condemn you as woke
He proclaims his guiding light is the word of the Lord
Accuses those who disturb his peace of mind of sowing discord
LGBTQ+ people he describes as a demonic horde
His messiah carries not a shepherd’s crook but a sword
And if you point out it’s love not hate that Jesus’ words evoke
He’ll fall back on his stock retort and label you as woke
But of all the groups of people he disparages and pans
He targets most of his vitriol on those who identify as trans
His Daily Mail perspective shows how little he understands
He considers those on the trans spectrum less than humans
And if you respect transgender people like any other folk
He’ll reassure himself that he is right and dismiss you as woke
He uses the word daily but can’t explain the meaning of woke
But to his mind its use is some kind of masterstroke
The perfect put down for caring and compassionate folk
His superiority clearly conveyed with words left unspoke
And if you show your disapproval of his intolerance and zealotry
He’ll wrap himself up tighter in his comfort blanket of bigotry
